The detail was in things you might miss: the build-your-own amenity station at The Caledonian instead of the usual basket of things nobody wants, luggage moving ahead of us in an electric van while we took the scenic route, the BBQ by the lake as a final send-off. The optional kayak safari on Loch Lomond the morning of day three was the best decision I made all week. Perfectly organised without ever feeling regimented.”
